The Third Avenue Institute conducts regular surveys about New Yorkers' opinions on the most salient issues for our city.
In May 2025, the Institute polled voters in the Democratic Party primary election for New York City's 4th Council District.
This study shows that many voters remain undecided, just weeks before this important election. 63% of registered voters in the Third Avenue Institute’s poll did not know which District 4 candidate they intended to vote for. Among voters who have chosen their champion, less than a third knew who they intended to rank in third, fourth, or fifth position on their ballot.

In January 2025, the Institute began our ongoing research study of public opinion about Manhattan's congestion relief zone. This study seeks to analyze how New Yorkers feel about the policy, and observe whether this sentiment changes over time.
