The Third Avenue Institute runs regular, large-scale opinion research surveys of New York registered voters on critical public policy topics like housing, transportation, education, and public safety.
We publish research reports to help elected officials and government agencies understand New Yorker's perspectives.
A new survey from Third Avenue Institute finds that District 4 voters are deeply uncertain about who they want to represent them in the City Council, despite early voting beginning in mid-June.
63% of registered voters in the Third Avenue Institute’s poll did not know which District 4 candidate they intended to vote for. Among voters who have chosen their champion, less than a third knew who they intended to rank in third, fourth, or fifth position on their ballot.
Large-scale opinion research ensures New Yorkers’ true views are accurately represented in the halls of power. Our studies allow decision-makers to understand the sentiment of voters at large.
Truly representative: Our methodology accurately captures the true opinions of the entire public, not just the views of the small pool of people who directly contact elected officials, or attend public hearings and community meetings.
Targeted & specific: Our research targets the key issues that matter to New Yorkers, and which determine their voting decisions.
